Hello Magnificent Souls!

National Women’s Day in South Africa is a celebration of the incredible courage and resilience that women have shown throughout history. It marks the day in 1956 when 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria, standing up against the oppressive pass laws of the apartheid regime. These women were not just fighting for their own rights, but for the rights of all who would come after them. Their bravery laid the foundation for the freedoms we enjoy today, and it serves as a powerful reminder of the strength that lies within each of us.

Yet, despite this rich history, women today still face challenges in proving their worth in spaces that have long been dominated by others. Whether it’s in the boardroom, at the dinner table, or in our personal relationships, we often find ourselves having to step up or keep up, constantly proving that we deserve our place. It can feel like an exhausting battle—one that leaves us questioning our own worth and power.

But here’s the truth: You belong in every room you enter. You have earned your seat at the table, and it’s time to strut into those spaces as if you own them—because you do. The strength of the women who came before us runs through our veins, and their legacy is carried forward in the way we live our lives today.

I know that feeling of doubt all too well. There have been moments when I questioned if I was good enough, if I deserved the opportunities before me. But every time I’ve leaned into those feelings, I’ve discovered something powerful: my worth is not up for debate. It is inherent, and it is unshakeable. And so is yours.

To every woman reading this, I want you to remember just how far we’ve come as a collective. We’ve shattered ceilings, broken barriers, and claimed our spaces in the world. But our journey doesn’t end here. We must continue to support one another, lift each other up, and remind ourselves of the strength that we possess.

If you ever find yourself struggling with feelings of unworthiness, here are a few tips to help you reclaim your power:

  1. Acknowledge Your Achievements: Take a moment to reflect on all that you’ve accomplished, no matter how big or small. Every success is a testament to your strength and perseverance.

  2. Surround Yourself with Support: Build a circle of women who uplift and inspire you. Lean on each other for strength and encouragement.

  3. Practice Positive Affirmations: Remind yourself daily of your worth and your power. Speak words of affirmation that resonate with your spirit and help you stand tall.

  4. Seek Guidance: Sometimes, the journey to self-empowerment requires a little help. As a life coach, I’m here to support you in overcoming any obstacles you may face. Together, we can work on building your confidence and embracing the incredible woman you are.

On this National Women’s Day, let’s celebrate the progress we’ve made, while also honoring the strength it took to get here. Let’s continue to push forward, knowing that our worth is not defined by anyone else but ourselves. You are powerful, you are deserving, and you are unstoppable.

Here’s to every woman—may you continue to walk in your strength and own every space you enter!

Happy Women's Day!
